Dementia Day Respite Services
At Omnicare, we believe that everyone thrives when they feel a sense of purpose and connection. Living with dementia can sometimes make it harder to engage with others, but that doesn’t mean those opportunities should be lost. Our Dementia Support Groups create a welcoming space where individuals can participate in meaningful activities, build friendships, and feel part of their community.
We host Dementia Day Respite Services at three of our centres:
📍 Port Macquarie (Greenmeadows)
📍 Kempsey (Parklands Cottage)
📍 Wauchope (Bain Park)
Our programs are guided by The WISER Approach, Omnicare’s Montessori-based initiative that focuses on understanding each person’s unique background, abilities, interests, and needs. With this approach, we create personalised experiences that empower individuals, encourage independence, and support overall wellbeing.
Because everyone deserves to be seen, heard, and valued.

What happens in these groups?
Omnicare’s coordinators plan programs that involve:
-
Social connection – enjoying the company of others while participating in entertaining and engaging activities
-
Maintaining or learning skills – so you can contribute to your daily routines and maximise your independence
-
Creative and practical projects – enabling you to express yourself and to enjoy a sense of achievement
-
Physical activities – dance, games and sport to keep you moving at your own pace
-
Outings – opportunities to visit places of interest in your community.
