Volunteers

How do I become an Omnicare volunteer?

Fulfilment and achievement enrich volunteers helping us deliver services to a wide range of Omnicare clients. We’re a profit-for-purpose organisation assisted by government funding, welcoming community-minded people keen to improve quality of life for others.

Hundreds of volunteers assist with transport, meal home deliveries, social outings, group activities and companionship at our centres and elsewhere. It’s usually fun, occasionally challenging, but ultimately rewarding to help Omnicare clients maintain or enhance their independence.

Assisting and supporting clients with requirements relating to age, disability or dementia isn't always straightforward. There are procedures to follow and occasions when you need to apply initiative.

The knowledge someone has benefitted instantly from their support keeps many Omnicare volunteers inspired and motivated to stay with us for years.

It's important to highlight the needs of our clients are paramount. Our volunteers should be prepared to roll up their sleeves and be 'hands on’.

If you think you’re a good fit for Omnicare, call us on 1300 336 488 and ask for a Volunteer Pack. All volunteers undergo NDIS Worker Screening and Working With Children checks.

You must complete any mandatory training to comply with Aged Care and NDIS standards – help is on hand.
